I believe that the movie Juno would make a fantastically hilarious musical! You could have songs like Your Eggo is Prego/Little Pink Plus Sign, The Baby has Fingernails, Penny Saver Adoption?, She Smells like Soup, and The Orange Tic-Tacs of Love. The movie has great drama and comedy, so it would fit perfectly on the stage.

I think the '97 animated movie Anastasia would be a fantastic musical! With Raul Esparza as Rasputin, Angela Lansbury as the Empress and Bernadette Peters as Sophie (no need to recast those..) Meghann Fahy as Anastasia, Aaron Tveit as Dimitri, and possibly Marc Kudisch as Vladimir.

I think Little Miss Sunshine has the potential to be an amazing musical. The mix between the movie's comedy and loveable storyline makes it a perfect candidate for a staged production. I don't have the entire show casted but I could definitely see Dee Hotty playing Sheryl (The Mother) and for some reason I see Wesley Taylor playing Dwayne (The Silent Emo Brother). As for Olive I say keep Abigail Breslin, she's just great. I could also see the part of Olive doing something similar to Little Sally from Urinetown where the character may be 10 or 11, but an adult plays the role. In this case I think your sister Celia would be a perfect candidate, and not just because it is another character named Olive.

I have never understood why my favorite Halloween movie of all time, "Hocus Pocus", has not been turned into a musical! I mean it has all the possiblities of making an AMAZING seasonal musical. It has a sold plot, great camp possibilites, an amazing cast of characters! They could even have a cat puppet, or a stage cat! (is there such a thing as a stage cat?) It would be SOOO COOL!!

my friends and I had a joke all summer that we are going to turn "she's the man" into a musical

The movie "Charlie Bartlett" or the movie "Running With Scissors" would both make great musicals. "Charlie Bartlett" sings to me mostly due to the melodramatic and just plain theatrical sensibilities of the main character, plus there are already what some might call "musical numbers" in the film. The movie "Running With Scissors" is very musical driven already; when watching over and over, as I tend to do, I can't help but notice that a lot of the emotion is not just portrayed through the writing and acting but also through the choice of music, also it's about a crazy woman and we all know that people like that on the big white way (N2N). Two other movies that would be great stage musicals would be Moulin Rouge and Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and neither need much adapting.

A Nightmare Before Christmas hands down. I mean... sure its another Disney show, but seriously, how epic would the set AND costume be. That enormous swirly hill that Jack laments on would be kinda epic to climb in a "turning staircase" fashion. Tons of black lights for glowy effects. The doctor's laboratory might be remeniscent of "Young Frankenstein", the holiday forest with moving trees. Oh, and Zero the dog would be totally adorable as a puppet :D And don't get me started on the costumes (i would love to run around in halloween masks and makeup on stage singing "this is halloween"). I mean how fun would it be to play Lock, Shock and Barrel, or even the mayor (with some sort of switching head... i'm sure some genius will figure out how to deal with him). And best of all, the christmas sled ascending into the sky with Jack in it, spreading horror to one and all in the audience in a "Mary Poppins" fashion
Its about time something tim burton got on stage :)

I've always though Across the Universe would make an AMAZING musical. I think my dream cast would consist of John Gallagher Jr. as Jude, Andy Mientus as Max, and, well, Even Rachel Wood as Lucy (why even recast that?). I know that it might be like super difficult to get the rights to all the songs and everything, but it would be sooo worth it in the end.
