Description: Based on the wise and witty Anatol by famed Austrian playwright Arthur Schnitzler, THE GAME OF LOVE is a thoughtful, romantic musical about the frivolities and foibles of love in all its deceptive permutations.

Anatol is a handsome and experienced late 19th-century Viennese man about town with a fondness for everything female. With the assistance of his wily friend (and our narrator) Max, Anatol's merry rendezvous with five very special women are recounted before our delighted eyes as our hero discovers love is indeed a game with amusing, bemusing rules.

Insight from the experts Staging Tip: All very flexible and bare-bones. Starts with a bare stage, moves into Anatol's study, a private restaurant, a street, a cafe. Simple furniture and props will do it. Don't overdo the set. Part of the show's magic is the wispy, memory-like ambiance suggested by the sparse settings.
