After weeks of preperation and rehearsals, ACT@TUTS (Apprentice Conservatory Training at Theatre Under The Stars) production of 13 played to sold out audiences for each of its 5 performances during the September 10-12, 2009 weekend. Created by Tony award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown and writers Dan Elish and Robert Horn, the musical originally featured the only all-teenage cast to ever be on Broadway. TUTS decided to match that spirit with our own teenage cast and teenage orchestra. They met with rave reviews. David Dow Bentley III of THE COURIER writes "...this gifted cast that skillfully brings us back to the angst of youth, along with the cliques, friendships, feuds, gossip, and rivalries of high school days. (If the Disney organization doesn’t have its eye on this show as a follow-up to the “High School Musical” dynasty, I would be surprised.)"
Brown and Horn were in attendance Friday evening. Excitement began when the talented cast, crew and family met with Brown and Horn for an hour long talk back following the performance.
