With the Tony Awards hot on the heels of an imminent defeat for the England in the beautiful game (I know, it's blatantly unpatriotic, but we pay our players far too much money for them to really care what's going on in the field) I thought I'd point people in the direction of Ken Davenports blog, and the predictions of him versus his readers of who will be heading home tomorrow night with an extra mantlepiece ornament.
There's some interesting thoughts behind said predictions, and I was most jollied by the rumour that David Bryan is playing hooky from a Bon Jovi gig in order to attend the awards. If this is true, and he still needs a sub I will gladly step in to his shooz.
It looks like American Idiot will scoop up design awards, but fall behind the two major contenders for the musical biggies. Memphis and Fela look set to go head to head for best musical. I'm siding with Memphis, for two reasons:
