This summer, I directed two shows with enough sets, props, and costumes to fill a 20-ft. box truck. It's no surprise I'm ready to "scale down" for fall.
On Monday, I start rehearsal for "Captain Louie, Jr.". We practice in a small space and travel to the theater where we will perform the last week of October. I'm going in with a rolling dorm trunk full of show kit supplies to be distributed to my group and "The Trip" by Ezra Jack Keats. I have a personal goal to keep the entire show (props, costume add ons, etc.) all in that trunk. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fly.
I'm hoping it translates and allows us to bring the focus to the actors and the material.
