BBC News: Live screenings good for theatre

This is a great article, and from a source that even Victoria couldn't disagree with....

The key points that interest me are:

  • the proportion of lower income families who attend screenings compared to live theatre
  • the finding that audiences are more emotionally engaged during a screening
The first one makes sense as cinema tickets are a lot cheaper. The second one is a very subjective area to measure and qualify.
But the biggest question is when does theatre stop being theatre?
